AP即无线访问接入点,作用是把有线信号转为无线信号,从而达到网络覆盖。简单的说AP就是无线网络中的延长线、中继器、放大器,起到一个加强信号、延长距离的作用。
无线访问并不是说AP不需要布线,而是说终端与无线信号发射器(无线路由器、AP)之间不需要布线。一般把只具备AP功能的设备称为无线AP。

单纯性无线AP就是一个无线的交换机,提供无线信号发射接收的功能。单纯性无线AP的工作原理是将网络信号通过双绞线传送过来,经过AP产品的编译,将电信号转换成为无线电讯号发送出来,形成无线网的覆盖。根据不同的功率,其可以实现不同程度、不同范围的网络覆盖,一般无线AP的最大覆盖距离可达500米。 多数单纯性无线AP本身不具备路由功能,包括DNS、DHCP、Firewall在内的服务器功能都必须有独立的路由或是计算机来完成。

If the number of users is too large, the user's access speed will decrease significantly, and the user experience is not good. If dual band AP is used, each frequency band can plan for 20-25 users. If both frequency bands work simultaneously, the access capacity can be doubled. Additionally, if 11ac is used, the user speed will be much faster with the same number of users. Generally, there are two power supply methods for wireless APs. One is local power supply, which, like switches, can be plugged in. However, this method is inconvenient and unattractive due to the large number of APs and usually installed on walls or ceilings.
